“it” is an idea that we are responsible and accountable for our own actions. “It” is part of the nature of our objective reality. If one believes that an entity or other outside force has not pre-determined everything that happens, and believes that we control some aspect of our fates by virtue of our thoughts and actions, and believes that God created the cosmos in which this condition occurs, then by extention God gave “it” to us. (Though I don’t say “God gave us free will”, as that is a rather absurd statement) You just like putting random words in the mouths of everyone, including God.
